Government review may lead to new initiatives on
drunk driving not least dropping the legal level of alcohol allowable -
28th February 2007.
The road safety
review being conducted by the government has thrown up some interesting
initiatives regarding drink driving laws.
The think tank has recommended that the police should have
powers to increase their random breath tests and that the blood level of
80mg per 100ml be reduced to 50mg. This would bring the UK in line with many
European countries. Many families of individuals that have been killed or
injured in road accidents involving drunk drivers, would welcome these initiatives.
