THINK! young peoples road safety advice

A THINK! campaign is aiming to educate three to 16 year-olds in road safety and reduce casualties from accidents  - 28th April 2009

New resources are being released aimed at reducing road accidents involving children by the THINK! road safety website.

The educational campaign is aimed at three to sixteen year olds, parents and teachers hoping to raise awareness of the dangers on our roads and reduce the number of pedestrian, bike and car accidents that children are involved in.

The children or pupils’ area as it is referred to contains interactive games, activity sheets, film clips and other fun but educational material.

The teachers’ area provides a guide to help in the planning of delivering the road safety education, with curriculum notes and lesson ideas.

The parents’ area contains information to help them set a good example, activity ideas to help educate their kids in road safety maters, and 'home-link' sheets to complete with their children to reinforce the knowledge they have learnt from classroom activities.

The online resources are available at www.dft.gov.uk/think/education and are free.
