The car manufacturer Kia is to recall two of its models in the
UK due to fears of fuel leak and brake problems.
If either problem were to cause any
road accidents then
compensation claims could be brought against the
manufacturer.
The company has contacted owners of Picantos built between
November 2009 and February 2010 following reports of leaks and
also owners of certain models of the cee’d because of reported
problems with the brakes.
A Kia spokesman said: “It’s not that the brakes failed to
operate but are not working at peak effectiveness. We’re not
aware of a single accident in the UK because of this.” The
company is offering free parts replacements to owners.
